Chonnam National University’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) held once again KyoSuDa, a series of lectures for the development of lectures and academic activities held in our university. This is the second lecture for the first semester of 2013 held last April 24th, 2013. Lee Jae-won (Professor, Dept. of Forest Resources & Landscape Architecture) together with Hong Seok-hwan (Professor, Dept. of Applied Biology Sciences & Technology) talked about the subject ‘How to interact with International Students’. In the said lecture, varied professors from sociology to biology participated. The professors from the Yeosu Campus also attended the workshop through a live screening in the said campus. They had time to discuss about the financial factors regarding lectures for international students, reverse discrimination of Korean students, language communication problems and the solutions to it. Currently, the university has more than 2,500 international students across different levels. Professor Lee Jae-Won said, “I could expect that development of the student guidance and teaching system if we, professors endeavor by reminding our own experiences for studying abroad.” Professor Lee is referring to the fact that most CNU professor has finished degrees abroad before taking teaching positions in the university.
