International students receiving a library opening traing on April 10

Chonnam National University Library (CNUL) provided library opening trainings for international students on April 10th and 11th. This program is organized once every school term in order to help them know how to use  library academic materials including books and e-journals and how to loan books not only those available at CNUL but from other Korean universities, online and those available only for private reading. The trainings were held both Korean and English speaking international students from all-levels in the university at the 5th floor seminar room of the library building (more popularly known as Hongdo). This education was planned to target 817 foreign students studying on Yongbong Campus of CNU, but only a very small minority of the students participated in the program. The staff member in charge of the library opening trainings said, “We have asked the Office of International Affairs to promote this program to foreign students, but every year only few of them attend. Therefore, we will give the information session on library use during the orientation program for international students from next semester.”
