Be a CNU Presidential Honor Student!

Students and professors at the 2012 PHS's Annual Reunion
Chonnam National University (CNU) is looking for passionate its students for the 6th batch of Presidential Honor Students (PHS). The application for 2013 is until April 16th, freshmen or sophomores attending colleges as of March 4, 2013 can apply this program. 40 hopefuls will be selected, 10 freshmen and 30 sophomores.
CNU introduced this special educational program to grow students’ basic abilities such as community spirit, critical thinking power, rational communication and creative problem solving over 3 years in 2008. There are lots of programs such as voluntary service, exploration project, and English special education for PHS. New programs including reading colloquiums and reading portfolio will become effective from this year.
A freshman that has 3 to 5 level accreditation from in the Collegiate Scholastic Ability Test or a sophomore who has a grade point average of 3.75 for his or her freshman year can apply. The details of the application for the program can be seen on the homepage of PHS (http://ile.jnu.ac.kr/phs). Applications will enter the screening process first, and in-depth interview test will be held. Successful applicants will receive their results individually. All new PHS must attend one of the orientation sessions being held on May 5. Since 2008, 138 students are active in the program. After graduation, PHS are showing excellent ability in their fields.
