CNU Students attending the Students' General Assembly on March 26th

On 26th March, the General Student Council (GSC) of CNU held Students’ General Assembly at Bong-ji Ground. According to the council, 1,926 students gathered, which is more than 1/10 of total number of students at CNU. The meeting brought 4 proposals to the table and students who attended the meeting agreed to pass those proposals. It seemed very democratic but there is something we should look at beneath it. Some students were just brought to Bong-ji without them wanting to join the meeting. As a result, almost half of the students left right after the show begun. That means less than 1/10 of the students care to take their time to look at what the council try to apply to school. Jeong Hong-ju (Senior, Dept. of German Lang. & Lit.) said, “CNU students should pay attention to what is going on in the school. I feel sorry to see people leaving before even the meeting properly starts.” On the other hand, the meeting was completed and students who stayed at the end of the meeting enjoyed the talent show by different clubs and organizations at CNU. The assembly was aimed not only to relay the plans of the GSC and get CNUians’ opinions but have a welcoming concert as well for freshmen.
