The completion ceremony of Chonnam National University’s (CNU) International Winter School (IWS) was implemented last February 27th. This is the 4th time that the program has been carried out since it started in 2010. Together with the 2nd International Summer Session (2nd ISS), the two are the flagship programs of CNU catering to students from its partner universities in Japan. This time, the IWS was held from February 6th to March 3rd for a total of 4 weeks. 8 Japanese universities sent a total of 37 students to take part in this program. Both Korean and Japanese students had opportunities to learn about each other through discussion and change of preconceived views through this program. Korean students as well were able to learn more about Korean culture. Lee Woong (Senior, Division of Animal Science) said, “Before this program I didn’t know about Korean culture and history exactly, but during this ceremony I learned a lot about Korea. Also it is very important that I was able to improve my Japanese speaking skill.”
