In a Foreign Student’s Perspective

As an exchange student as well as a freshman, I barely know Chonnam National University (CNU). But it is good to know that there is an English newspaper being published at CNU. As a foreign student who just arrived here about 2 weeks ago, I can’t speak or read the Korean language. The Chonnam Tribune is the only media where I can get all sorts of information. This newspaper can have a lot of benefits to international students like me. I don’t really know what to do here at CNU except from going to class and back to the dormitory. I would love to know if there are some clubs or associations that I can join or even activities that I can do to fill up my free time in the evening. I want to know about every place in Gwangju and how to get there. I want to get updates for all events that are happening. Maybe this type of information can be provided by the Chonnam Tribune. Also, besides the Puzzle, the Chonnam Tribune should also insert games like Sudoku and some cartoons to attract more readers. Previously, it focused on the “Healing” topic. It was very interesting. Maybe the writing can focus more on a solution. What can CNUians do to heal their mind, body and soul? As for me, if I’m stressed out about studying, I’ll just take a 5-10 minute break, playing some easy games to calm my mind. Watching movies can also be one of the alternatives. Comedy would be the very best choice. I can have fun, laugh and forget about all sorts of problems.
