Ahn Chull-soo, who is the dean of Seoul National University Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology and possible candidate for the next presidential election, delivered a special lecture at Chonnam National University (CNU) on April 3rd. During the lecture titled “The Future of Gwangju, The Future of the Youth”, he emphasized the role of Gwangju. “As our society has been a fast follower, we do not accept failure. Now, it is time to change. Failure should be another chance.” Before giving the lecture, Ahn came to the book café in the University Library I and held a signing event for CNU students. He had a lunch in the cafeteria in the Student Union Building I with students. Surrounded by many students and spectators, Ahn went to the University Library II and had a break. People constantly asked different questions and Ahn answered without annoying. “You should give it a try though you never did it, and after you fail, make a second attempt. Do not be afraid of challenge and failure.” Ahn’s visit to Gwangju received attention from many people because it was a sensitive time before the general election. Starting at CNU, he visited other national universities and gave lectures until April 11th, the general election day.
